Piemonte & Barolo wine dinner Thursday 26 May
Piemonte & Barolo wine dinner Thursday 26 May
Situated at the base of the Alps to the north, & cradled by the Appenines to the south, there are lots of hill top villages which produce outstanding wines in Piemonte, the most famous of them being Barolo & Barbaresco, where the wines are made to very specific quality specifications (& 100% Nebbiolo)  to be called by their town of origin. The surrounding area also produces some fantastic wines, generally made with the other local indigenous grapes, Cortese, Barbera & of course Nebbiolo.

The name Nebbiolo comes from 'nebbia' meaning fog, & refers to the fog which gathers in the valley overnight, & is burnt off the hill tops before leaving the valley. This is also one of the reasons the premier grapes are grown up on the hills.

These exciting wines will be matched by a delicious 4 course dinner by Marco
